Wanderings

While wandering, I came upon this tiny, deserted chapel. Behind the grand entrance gate, stands a fragrant orange grove.

Verona Impressions

"There is no world without Verona walls, but purgatory, torture, Hell itself. Hence banished is banished from the world, and world's exile is death..."

A Stop in Milano

The cathedral of Milan is so very inspiring and breathtaking. My photo simply does not do it justice. The covered shopping area know as, La Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, was built between 1865 and 1877 and is situated in the same grand piazza as the cathedral.

Snapshots from Noto

Each year the beautiful baroque city of Noto holds a flower festival. The mosaic designs are made of flower petals and other organic materials...coffee, beans, seeds, etc. Many people watched the parade and viewed the flowers from the fantastic balconies. I thought I would share a few snapshots from my day in Noto.

Venezia

I have found myself traveling so much lately, I have not had time to photograph Sicilia. However, I wanted to share a few photos from a trip to Venezia. I found it to be a magical place....easy to photograph.

Quick trip to Rome

I realize that my blog is supposed to be about Sicily. However, I wanted to share a few of my photos from a quick trip to Rome. This was my second trip, and I just fell in love with the city. It stands in such contrast to Sicily....modern, yet ancient at the same time. I can't wait to go back!

Ruin with Etna

I posted a photo of this ruin previously on my blog. It is a place I drive by regularly. This is a March view with snowy etna looming in the background.

Just a stand of trees along the roadside. Infrared light transforms the scene into something that calls to mind a fairy realm.
